Excellent hotel in a great location

The location and staff were excellent. The rooms are a good size, clean and well appointed. I would definitely stay here again

My only negative was the breakfast. The hot breakfasts ie eggs benedict etc were often served cold on cold plates

We loved the location in the old city center, it was excellent, we could walk everywhere! We loved the room, very comfy and full of design.

We had some troubles at the breakfast, it was very confusing and slow. Food excellent but the service didn't match the quality od the food and the stay.... :(

A wonderful start to my holiday journey.

The location is fabulous, right on the river and in the heart of the old town. Staff were all excellent. The room was comfortable and modern set within the shell of the old building. I had a small balcony. Breakfast was sensational.

great hotel with very nice personnel

the hotel is very well located, beds were very comfortable, and the best part of this hotel was the personnel. we loved it there.

the only problem was the noise from the bars below our windows. but we stayed during the weekend and it might be better during the week days

Staff was fantastic, as was the location. We walked to the museum which was an easy and beautiful walk along the river. Many restaurants within a short walk. Highly recommended.

Fantastic city break , would recommend hotel to friends

Great location , friendly helpful staff , Stephen and Andreas in particular went out of their way to help with any query . The room was a little dark even though were upgraded to an exterior facing room , otherwise it was great

The room was too dark and difficult to get ready for evening out

What was the highlight of Hotel Tayko Bilbao

Wonderful location in the old town area of Bilbao

Great sized room with lovely modern/old decor (bricks were old but refurbished/enhanced with walls of concrete and glass). The bed was extremely comfortable, the view was not great considering the price and only a few feet from the windows in the building opposite, our room rate did not include breakfast or parking so both of those were at additional cost. Breakfast was either a la carte or 'complete' ('complete' included fruit bowl, juice, pastry and cooked breakfast but you could purchase any part of that on the a la carte from about 3 to 12 euros), parking was on the other side of the river from the hotel and 25 euros per night. We had dinner on our last night at the Michelin starred restaurant in the hotel - Ola - and were not disappointed. Very centrally placed in the old town of Bilbao so we managed to walk everywhere including to the Guggenheim Museum but disappointingly, the funicular railway was closed for repair. We booked a wine pairing and Pintxos tour on one of the evenings we were there and couldn't have been more pleased with the tour guide and company. Thoroughly recommend the hotel and restaurant despite the car park/prices and lack of a view.

Car park not close by & the parking charges are steep (having also visited San Sebastian on the same trip, we now believe that it's one of the downsides of staying in the old town of both Bilbao and San Sebastian). There was no view from the room considering we booked a suite which was quite a bit more expensive that standard.

Good location chic boutique hotel with a michelin star restaurant

Location, decoration, room, bed, service all very satisfactory.

Parking that was stated when booking is actually a bridge away from the hotel. It was raining when we arrived so to carry suitcases to cross the bridge from the car park to reach the hotel is a bit of a hassle.

Super location, lovely room, fabulous staff.

The staff make this hotel. We had a room at the front in the 5th floor. Beautiful river view and great light. The downside is the traffic noise in the morning. But honestly, the staff were fabulous. From recommendations on where to walk, where to eat, what to see, to the genuine interest they had in making your stay perfect was an absolute delight. Thank you to you all.

A nice well-located hotel to explore the sights of Bilbao.

Great location on the outskirts of the old town, with easy access to the main local sights. The design of the hotel is nice and the check-in process was simple. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast (25 Euro) was nice and the staff were very attentive.

My room looked onto a central service shaft, so the view was poor. I must have missed this in the small print when booking. The hotel was quite noisy, and I could hear other guests moving around their rooms and staff cleaning throughout the day.
